Privacy Policy
How South Shore Plumber Finder collects, uses and protects information when you call, send a request or browse southshoreplumber.com.
Effective November 1, 2026; last updated November 2, 2026
South Shore Plumber Finder (“we,” “us”) runs southshoreplumber.com, a referral service that connects homeowners on the Massachusetts South Shore with independent local plumbers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information You Give Us
When you send a request, you give us your name, phone number, town, the kind of help you need, and, if you choose, your email address and details about the job. We use this information only to connect you with an independent local plumber who serves your town, and to follow up about that request.
While the site is being set up, the online request form does not send or store anything you type. This policy describes how requests will be handled once online requests are switched on.
Phone Calls
When you call a number shown on this site, your call is connected to an independent local plumber or to a call-routing partner that connects you with one. That pro or partner may log details such as your phone number, the time and length of the call for billing and quality purposes. We do not record calls. Massachusetts law requires everyone on a call to consent before it is recorded, so any recording by a partner must be announced at the start of the call.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time, to keep the site secure and working. We do not use advertising cookies. The only third-party script on the site is Google Analytics, described below.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use the site: which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive (for example, from a search engine), the type of device and browser, the approximate area a visit comes from (city or region), and actions such as tapping a call button, choosing a problem, or sending a request. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell visits apart. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We look at this information in aggregate to improve the site and to show contractors how often their town pages are used, and we do not use it to identify you.
We have not turned on Google signals or Google’s advertising features, and we do not use analytics data for advertising. We keep analytics data for 14 months. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy and explains how it uses information from sites that use its services. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
How We Share Information
- With the pro you are connected to. Your request goes to one independent local plumber who serves your town, so they can contact you about the job.
- With service providers who host the site or deliver email for us, under contracts that limit their use of the information.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or us.
- If the business changes hands, the information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Calls And Texts From Pros
If you check the consent box on our form, the plumber you are connected with may contact you about your request by phone, text or email, including by automated means. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can reply STOP to any text message to opt out of further texts from that sender.
How Long We Keep Information
We do not keep a database of homeowner requests. Requests are forwarded by email to the pro, and our email delivery provider keeps delivery logs for a limited time. The pro you are connected with keeps their own records under their own policies.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we limit who can access request information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please don’t include sensitive details such as account numbers in a request.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging work on their homes. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your Choices
You can ask what information we have about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent to be contacted, by writing to us through our contact page. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
